Summary

Allistor just wants to restore the human race。 He’s doing his best with the resources he’s gathered to locate other survivors around the world and unite them。 His intentions are good, and he pushes hard。 The drake eggs are hatching, and his people have dreams of both a murder chicken cavalry and a drake-mounted air force。 A small army of class trainers are helping to make his citizens stronger than ever, better able to survive the hazards of their new reality。

But fate, and the aliens who keep throwing stronger and more deadly challenges at him, are working against Allistor。 The threat of vengeance from the Fomorian Matron, the machinations of Loki and Hel, and the jealousy of a fellow human with a lesser noble title, all add to the pressure。

When seeming good fortune turns to tragic loss, Allistor must push through and remain strong in order to face the very beings responsible for the apocalypse on earth。 The murderers of humanity。

And in this confrontation, even victory has dire consequences。

Another added to the libraryThis installment continues the amazing adventure from book one。 It has no difficulty maintaining the pace and progression from the many other books of the series and keeps you excited to keep reading what happens next。

Long wait worth it。The long awaited return of Mr。 Willmarth to writing was worth it。 Not gonna sugar coat it, this one is a Heartbreaker。 But, the story is much advanced。

Solid book with some flawsI enjoyed reading this book。 The author is doing a good job of constructing an interesting universe。 That said, there were a few things in the book that just didn’t fit。 During the book, the MC’s capitol is attacked by undead。 Several people die。 The MC is hurt and furious about the loss of his people。 There deaths come across as very contrived。 The only way for them to happen is for the victims and the MC to do a lot of stupid things that make no sense。 Given that thes Solid book with some flawsI enjoyed reading this book。 The author is doing a good job of constructing an interesting universe。 That said, there were a few things in the book that just didn’t fit。 During the book, the MC’s capitol is attacked by undead。 Several people die。 The MC is hurt and furious about the loss of his people。 There deaths come across as very contrived。 The only way for them to happen is for the victims and the MC to do a lot of stupid things that make no sense。 Given that these are battle-tested veterans veterans the circumstances just aren’t believable。 Also does the MC not have a general? Put differently the large scale battle sequences need a lot of work but the rest of the book is solid。 。。。more

Definitely a tear jerker This was another great book in this amazing tale! I am really looking forward to next in this interesting series。

Unsatisfying ending, but great readEnjoyed the whole book, only thing i hated about it was the last chapter。 One of the biggest draws to these types of books is the loot and when you pimp it off to the next book it is just salting the grass。 Otherwise thanks and Gnomes Rule!

Nicely developed storyThe MC scaled nicely through the book with a exponential gain at the end。 The world building was interesting as usual and the overall story line was engaging。

Loving where the story is goingOut of all the post-apocalyptic series it there, this is one of two stories that really did a great job of capturing a very "real" response to an even like this。While Allister is the archetypal hero, he comes with a lot of very human flaws and characteristics that really endear him to the reader。When's the next one out? 😀 Loving where the story is goingOut of all the post-apocalyptic series it there, this is one of two stories that really did a great job of capturing a very "real" response to an even like this。While Allister is the archetypal hero, he comes with a lot of very human flaws and characteristics that really endear him to the reader。When's the next one out? 😀 。。。more

Great bookThroughly pleasing read。 I can’t wait for the next one。 This whole series is good and I like how this starts and closes a new story and closes others with opening more。

Great readI am very sad that I am done reading because now I have to wait again for the next one。 This next addition to the Shadow Sun series was action packed and filled with plenty of ups and downs。 I have enjoyed this series so much and I highly recommend this book to lovers of post apocalyptic litrpg fans every where。

Great seriesCan't seem to get enough of your stories and visions。 All series are exceptional and I constantly explore to find the next book。 Hopefully the next in this series will not take as long。 Great seriesCan't seem to get enough of your stories and visions。 All series are exceptional and I constantly explore to find the next book。 Hopefully the next in this series will not take as long。 。。。more

Good bookI enjoyed this one, because it is well written。 As I'm sure others have noted, there are a great many deaths in this book, and rapidly。 One death in particular hit hard with the sudden and spontaneous nature。 I'm curious to see where the story goes as the scope of things has gotten much larger。 Good bookI enjoyed this one, because it is well written。 As I'm sure others have noted, there are a great many deaths in this book, and rapidly。 One death in particular hit hard with the sudden and spontaneous nature。 I'm curious to see where the story goes as the scope of things has gotten much larger。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Did Amanda really have to die or was a wedding really too much trouble to write? Of all the characters that could have been chosen to add some emotional impact that was the last I would have picked。 I read to enjoy escaping into another’s life, and there was nothing enjoyable in any of it for me after that。

Another Great InstallmentEveryone who follows the various authors in this genre has come to expect a certain style of content from Dave, and I’m happy to say that this book has not only met, but exceeded all expectations。 The progression of the storyline and scope of the conflict continue to draw me in, and I’ll be eagerly awaiting what comes next。

Nikhil Narayanan

Leveling plus sorrowUnfortunate deaths, more action adventure and mystery。 This series of Dave W has lot more human elements and unpredictability of war。 Theme of collective good is fine to read but not easy to digest or get behind especially if it is to the extent that Allister takes it to。

Dan

Very good I assume this was written in the beginning of the pandemic because of the running toilet paper joke。 Good continuation and the stakes get bigger and bigger。

John Hely

Great read, number of surprises!Fantastic addition to the series。 A number of surprises twists - some tragic, some unimaginable at this point in the protagonist's progression。 A must read! Really enjoyed this just as I have the rest of the series。 I hope there is more to this series but this could easily be a stopping point based on other series this author has done, there are enough loose ends to continue it or end it here, like i said hopefully more we readers always want more。 This volume has some darker twists to the story and a lot of plot resolutions so there is a lot to look forward to。 If you're at this book you've already read the previous ones and you know what you are i Really enjoyed this just as I have the rest of the series。 I hope there is more to this series but this could easily be a stopping point based on other series this author has done, there are enough loose ends to continue it or end it here, like i said hopefully more we readers always want more。 This volume has some darker twists to the story and a lot of plot resolutions so there is a lot to look forward to。 If you're at this book you've already read the previous ones and you know what you are in for。 highly recommended。 。。。more

What is probably my favourite series of this genre continues with another excellent book。 Engaging, well-paced and not lacking in stuff going on, I went through this one pretty quickly。 Allistor has to stop giving second chances to people who wish him harm, as that constantly bites him in the ass。 Learning to be at least polite to beings far more powerful than himself should also be high on his self-development list。 Overall a worthy book in this series, but some spoilers follow below。 I don't k What is probably my favourite series of this genre continues with another excellent book。 Engaging, well-paced and not lacking in stuff going on, I went through this one pretty quickly。 Allistor has to stop giving second chances to people who wish him harm, as that constantly bites him in the ass。 Learning to be at least polite to beings far more powerful than himself should also be high on his self-development list。 Overall a worthy book in this series, but some spoilers follow below。 I don't know if I was supposed to be very upset about Amanda getting killed, but I wasn't。 I never warmed to her as a character, and for me the chemistry between her and Allistor was always strained。 Could be the author came to the same conclusion and realized that she was a poor choice for the wife/consort of the MC as he grew to multi-world emperor。 That could just be my assessment, but I think clearing the decks of her was the right move for the story。 。。。more

WowSpoiler alert a major character dies which is not totally unexpected in these books。A fascinating read as usual and as strong as Alastair gets there always seems to be someone bigger out there。It would be reasonable to have another strong leader on earth to be an ally rather than them all being power mad dictators - not everyone should have to join Invictus to survive。

Shemer Kuznits

Another great one in the series! Dave does what Dave does best end Alistair Adventures Continue with greater actions and repercussions when he moves on to claim Humanity place in the new system。 A must!

William Howe

No fearI like when an author doesn’t pull punches。 Killing an important character is a bold move, but it also adds meaning to the narrative, as ‘plot armor’ ceases being sufficient to protect everyone。Breaks/brakes - learn the difference。 Other than that, pretty clean prose。This is one of the stronger System Apocalypse series published。

Matt Stpier

Best one in the series so far。。。。。First off, it takes anamazing author to make me so sad that I want to stop reading but still cannot。 This book was fantastic。 I will not spoil what made me sad but I will be recommending this series to all of my litrpg friends!
